No anti-dumping duty on PTFE resin

  • The US International Trade Commission (USITC) has ruled against putting an anti- dumping duty on the imports of a synthetic fluoropolymer from India and China.
  • The fluoropolymer is a key ingredient in the non-stick coating for pans and other cookware.
  • A polymer of tetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is used because of its chemical inertness, heat resistance and electrical insulation properties.

  • The newly-built ‘Ekana International Stadium’ has been renamed after former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Lucknow.
  • The stadium will now be known as ‘Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium’.
  • UP Governor Ram Naik has approved the government proposal to this effect.

Guidelines for ‘Operation Greens’ issued

  • Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has approved the operationalization strategy for Operation Greens.
  • Operation Greens was announced in the Budget speech of 2018-19 with an outlay of Rs 500 crores.
  • It was launched to stabilise the supply of Tomato, Onion and Potato (TOP) crops and to ensure availability of TOP crops throughout the country round the year without price volatility.

  • India and Malawi signed three MoUs on extradition, cooperation in atomic energy and visa waiver for diplomats and officials on 5 November 2018.
