FDA approves new oral three-drug regimen for extensively drug-resistant TB
- The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved new oral three-drug regimen for the extensively-drug resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB), estimated to have a mortality rate of 60 per cent.
- The treatment involves pretomanid tablets in combination with bedaquiline and linezolid, collectively referred to as the BPaL regimen, according to FDA’s statement on August 14, 2019.

Moody’s downgrades long-term rating of Indiabulls Housing Finance
- Moody’s Investors Service has downgraded Indiabulls Housing Finance’s (IBH) long-term corporate family rating to ‘Ba2’ from ‘Ba1’ in the backdrop of renewed pressure on the cost and availability of funds for some finance companies in India.
- The scrip plunged as much as 9.66 per cent to Rs 498, while the benchmark BSE Sensex was down over 250 per cent at 37,046 at around 9.40 am (IST).

ADB signs pact to invest $23 million in NCD of GRIL
- Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed an agreement to invest $23 million in non-convertible debentures being issued by GRIL to help the company rapidly scale up its construction of roads and highways in India.
- The agreement was signed by Michael Barrow, Director General of ADB’s Private Sector Operations Department and GRIL Chairman and Managing Director Vinod Kumar Agarwal.
