Parliament passed Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill, 2019
- On July 12th 2019, The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
- It will replace the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Second Ordinance, 2019.
- The bill will safeguard transparency, accountability, and quality in the governance of medical education in the country.

A 10-year old Karate Girl, Arinjeeta Dey wins a silver medal for India in World Youth Cup 2019
- A 10-year old Karate girl, Arinjeeta Dey (Barasat, West Bengal) has won a silver medal in the under 12 age category in the World Youth Cup 2019 which was held in Umag, Croatia.
- The tournament was organised by World Karate Federation affiliated to the International Olympic Association.
- Arinjeeta won the medal in the under-12 age group category.
- She hails from Barasat in West Bengal. She has been a student of Hanshi Premjit Sen, who is the president of Premjit Sen Martial Art Academy in West Bengal.

Copa America 2019: Brazil wins Title on home soil
- Ten Man Brazil won the Copa America on home soil.Jesus scored the decisive goal after a penalty from Peru captain Paolo Guerrero canceled out Everton’s opener for hosts Brazil at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana stadium.
- The Manchester City striker was in tears as he left the field, making hand gestures, kicking a water bottle and almost knocking over the trophy plinth.
- However, Brazil’s players rallied after the dismissal to claim a battling victory.

Duty Free shops at Dubai airports to accept Indian currency
- The Indian Rupee will now be accepted for transaction at all airports in Dubai.
- The Indian currency is now acceptable at all three terminals of the Dubai International Airport and at Al Maktoum Airport.
- The acceptance of Indian currency is good news for Indian tourists as earlier they lost a sizeable amount due to exchange rates.

Pink City Jaipur declared as a World Heritage site by UNESCO
- The historic walled city of Jaipur, known for its iconic architectural legacy, made its entry into the UNESCO’S world heritage list.
- The decision to designate the city as a heritage site was taken during the 43rd Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee at Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku.
- With Jaipur’s inclusion, the number of heritage sites across India that are on the UNESCO World Heritage list, has grown to 38, including 30 cultural properties, seven natural properties and one mixed site.

- Indian Army and the National eGovernance Division (NeGD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)to develop a revamped application.

- They will maintain the centralised database for personnel, equipment and major stores to provide management-related information to Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army).
- Anil Kapoor, Director General of Information Systems and M S Rao, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), National E-governance Division signed the MOU in the presence of Shri TP Singh, Director, Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG).
