• Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the country’s longest electrified rail tunnel between Cherlopalli & Rapuru at 6.7 kms.
• Tunnel is built at a cost of ₹437 crore, has 44 trolley refuges and 14 cross-passages in a horseshoe design.

• Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar on Saturday unveiled the new logo and certificate design of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) at a function in Mumbai.
• Introduction of a QR code in the new certificate design is in sync with the world of digital technology and will bring in greater transparency and provide information to filmmakers in a better way.

INS Sahyadri and Kiltan visit Laem Chabang, Bangkok, Thailand for port call

• On August 31, 2019, Two Indian Navy Warships- INS Sahyadri and Kiltan visited Laem Chabang, Bangkok,Thailand for a port call which is scheduled till September 3, 2019, as a part of the Navy’s Overseas Deployment to South East Asia and Western Pacific.
• Both ships represent the ‘coming of age’ of India’s warship building capabilities.
